Block Kids Building Contest

The National Association of Women in Construction is sponsoring a Block Kids Building Contest for grades K-6 on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Kirkwood. Participation is free but space is limited to 60 children so registration is required. Click on the flyer below for details about the event.

Summit Schools Learning Extensions January 16

Summit Schools is offering a Learning Extensions Camp (aka in-service day camp) on Monday, January 16, 2017 for all students grades K-6th.  This camp takes place at NewBo City Market. Our theme is “Fire & Ice” and includes activities with The Ceramics Center, the University of Iowa’s Arts Share program, The National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library, and the Cedar Rapids YMCA. University of Iowa Study

The Grammar Acquisition Lab at the University of Iowa is conducting a study for children preschool & Kindergarten.  The U of I is studying the effects of teaching children to use complex sentences during science lessons. Click on the flyer for details about this study.

City of Cedar Rapids to Hold Public Meetings about Roundabout Near Point
