Kites for Kids Festival

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.  In recognition of the prevention efforts of local organizations, the City of North Liberty and Community Partnerships for Protecting Children are holding their annual North Liberty Kites for Kids Festival on Saturday, April 13 from noon to 2:00 PM.  This free family event encourages play between children and their families, with free kites and treats… supplied via donations from local businesses.  Click on the flyer below for more information.

ExploreU is an annual one week STEM summer program for middle school girls completing 6th, 7th and 8th grade. The program is designed to help young girls learn math and computer science skills while having fun. During the program, students use Scratch software to analyze patterns and learn the fundamentals of programming. Participants learn about Geometer SketchPad, prime numbers, Fibonacci Sequence, Fractals and Cryptography. ExploreU engages students, opens their eyes to math and science in the world around them, teaches both ideas and skills, and ignites their interest in learning.
