Join the the Prairie Boys Basketball program for poster night this Friday, December 13. The Hawks face Cedar Rapids Kennedy in a girl/boy doubleheader. The varsity boys will be signing posters immediately following their game.
Hall-Perrine’s 2020 Prom – Your Skin is In Event
Hall-Perrine Cancer Center is sponsoring Your Skin is In Event on Sunday, January 19. This annual event encourages teens to choose safer alternatives to tanning beds to prepare for prom. During this event we will have Oncology Healthcare Providers talk about skin cancer, a prom fashion show, and we even feature some young melanoma survivors to show the kids that melanoma affects young people too. College Community Schools helps to provide a happy holiday for those less fortunate by having a toy collection box at each of our elementary, middle, intermediate and high school, transportation building, district office and early childhood center from Monday, October 28 through Thursday, December 5. Prairie High School Fall Jazz Concert November 14
On Thursday, November 14, the Prairie High School Jazz Bands will present their Fall Concert at 7:00 PM in the Concert Hall at Prairie High School. This concert will be the first performance of the twenty-one member Jazz I and the twenty-four member Jazz II during the 2019-2020 school year. The concert will feature guest vocalist Eddie Piccard. This year, Eddie will be recording and performing with Jazz I as a part of KCCK’s Corridor Jazz Project. Click on the flyer below for more details.
Project SAFE to Host Community Conversation on Mental Heath Education Prevention
Project SafeCRCA presents a Project SAFE Town Hall: Mental Health Suicide Awareness and Prevention. A town hall style community conversation will be held in Cedar Rapids on Monday, November 18, 2019, from 6:30-8:00PM. Panel discussion and the resource table to open at 5:00pm, in the Cedar Rapids District Office 2500 Edgewood Rd NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405. A panel of local experts will be on hand to answer specific questions and concerns from the audience. Guest speaker will be Matt VandeBerg, former University of Iowa football wide receiver.
